It is the policy of Splash ‘N Dash K9 Sports (SND) to make its training facility available for rental to members for training practice, private lessons and for Club approved seminars or events. All use must be under the direct supervision of one or more Gold level member who takes full responsibility for resetting equipment in preparation for the next class or user. The building is not available for rental during regularly scheduled classes or SND sanctioned events.
Rental expenses will be based on the reason for use, the length of use, cost of operating and maintaining the facility and the displacement of regularly scheduled classes. The Board of Directors has the authority to waive building use fees at its discretion. A current fee schedule will be maintained by the Treasurer and will be posted at the building and on the members only section of the website.
All rentals require that the primary user sign a hold harmless agreement and that they take responsibility for repair or replacement of any damage occurring during use. Prior to rental users must demonstrate knowledge of operation of all building equipment including cooling/heating systems and movement of equipment.
Violation of this policy could result in loss of rental privileges and potential discipline by the club.
Rentals to Members for private training – Gold members may rent the building in no less than one hour increments provided that the building is not in use for any other purpose. Hourly cost of rental will be based on the schedule maintained by the Treasurer and will be in an amount equal to the cost of operating the building. Rentals in this category are for one handler/one dog training only. If multiple handlers/dogs are training together, each team must pay the same rental fees. Instructor credit may be used for rentals of this type.
Rentals for private lessons – Approved club instructors may use the building for such use and the student will pay an hourly fee according to the schedule maintained by the Treasurer. The fee will be equal to the cost of building operation. This category of rental is for one-on-one training only. Instructor credit may not be used for rentals of this type. Instructors may not charge for their time, but will receive class credits for the private lesson.
Rentals for Specialized classes – Approved club instructors may choose to rent the building to conduct specialized training to a group of three or more dog/handler teams. Rates for this type of training will be in accordance with the schedule maintained by the Treasurer and will be based on rates equal to the pro-rated cost of the normal class session. All rentals in this category must be pre-approved by the curriculum committee to ensure that the training methods are in keeping with the training philosophy of the club. Instructor credit may not be used for rentals of this type. Instructors may not charge for their time, but will receive class credits for the private lesson.
Building Rentals to Others – Rental requests which fall outside the above outlined categories must receive prior consent by the Board of Directors and the fees will be set in accordance with the cost of building operation plus a reasonable usage fee to be returned to the club. Rentals of this type will require that the user present a valid Certificate of Insurance naming Splash N Dash K9 Sports, Inc. as an additional insured.
Individuals wishing to rent the building must submit their request to the Scheduling Task Force. Contact information for this group is available at the training center and as a link in the member section of the website. Usage request forms will include name, date of requested use, purpose of use and a signed release form. No rental will be approved without prior submission of the release form.
A schedule for building use will be maintained by the Scheduling Task Force using the ‘Regional Calendar’ on the club website or other approved method. Information about posting scheduled events should be sent to the email link found in the Committees Section of the member section of the website.
There will be a usage sheet posted in the club office at the building; users are required to sign in when they use the building.
Users are responsible for ensuring that the building is left clean and ready for use by the next person or class. This includes cleaning up after dogs, making sure the restroom is clean and stocked, turning the heat down or the cooling fans off, turning out all overhead lighting and returning the key to the lockbox located on the door of the building. Failure to follow these procedures could result in loss of building rental privileges.
